Executive Director

I joined the LHA staff in December 1989 to work in the newly created Support Service Department. It was a privilege being in on the ground level of this new venture; developing and establishing a wide array of services to meet the needs of our aging population.

Over the years I worked closely with the former Executive Director developing and implementing housing while assisting in directing the day-to-day administration of a Housing Authority.

I’ve attended several local and national conferences and trainings for Property Management, Housing Choice Vouchers, Rural Development, Low-Income Tax-Credit, and general regulations mandated by Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The former Executive Director resigned from LHA in September 2007 to work in another segment of Federal housing. At that time I was commissioned by the LHA Board of Commissioners to serve as Acting Executive Director. A little over 3 months later, on January 10, 2008, I was appointed Executive Director.

Since being appointed Executive Director, I have organized and managed daily operation of the Authority consistent with State and Federal regulations, budget constraints, and Board policies, developing and implementing a system which maximizes work flow and overall productivity while maintaining expertise in regulation and administrative procedures. I have focused on maintaining the Authority’s real estate, analyzing capital needs for each property and recommending strategies. I work closely with my staff to develop and maintain an efficient operating budget while continuing to develop and implement Support Services for our tenants and maintaining close communication with the Board of Commissioners.

In the upcoming months my goal is to connect and develop relationships with state and local personnel to ensure that the Authority continues to have an effective role in the area’s affordable housing activities and to demonstrate such leadership that the Authority is recognized as the affordable housing arm of the local government.

Please take a few minutes to explore the LHA website and learn more about what makes Laconia Housing Authority a necessary and valuable part of our community, and how you can get involved as a tenant, partner, or volunteer!

Sincerely,

Charlotte DuBois
