Administrative Assistant - Full Time

The Housing Administrative Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the staff of Laconia Housing,

specifically, property managers and Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program.

Ideal candidate will possess:


  • Experience in general office environment and customer service.

  • Experience within the property management field preferred but will train the right candidate.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Microsoft Office products-SharePoint, Word, Excel, Adobe, email and internet, etc.).

  • Pleasant and patient demeanor.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow through.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound, thoughtful decisions.

  • Ability to be flexible and prioritize tasks.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage recertification process including producing/mailing tenant notices, preparing/mailing monthly annual certification packets, tracking returns for completeness, communicating directly with tenants/clients regarding missing or incomplete information.

  • Provide support to Property Managers as needed.

  • Answer phone and greet visitors.

  • Screen HCV, tenant and applicant phone calls.

  • Determine the eligibility of applicants at the top of the HCV waitlist. Perform informal briefings with applicants prior to issuance of housing vouchers.

  • Responsible for application management, applicant inquiries, and annual applicant waitlist purges/tracking.

  • Maintain tenant master list on SharePoint.

  • Keep up to date, accurate information for the Call-Em-All system.

  • Complete DHHS Rental Verifications.

  • Work effectively with other Laconia Housing depts. (Resident Services, Maintenance, Finance, etc.) as well as contract administrators (NHHFA, RD, etc.) and other outside agencies.

  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Senior Property Manager - Full Time

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • Minimum of 5 years in affordable housing industry.

  • Prior supervisory experience.

  • Experience in housing programs-HUD, LIHTC, HCV, RD, Project Based Vouchers, etc. (willing to learn with training )

  • Extensive knowledge of compliance requirements of housing programs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Familiarity with lease termination requirements and housing court forms/practices.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and staff.


Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Assist Housing Director in the administration of multiple housing programs.

  • Process applications, screen applicants, complete certifications, etc.

  • Lease enforcement.

  • Prepare and transmit electronic vouchers, databases, reports, etc.

  • Supervision of property management staff.

  • Liaison between various housing agencies.

  • Conduct applicant and tenant appeals.
