Sunrise House: New CFI Options

In addition to our current housing properties, we are happy to introduce our newest project – Sunrise House.

Sunrise House is designed specifically for CFI residents.

New Hampshire’s population of senior citizens is expected to double by 2025 and to address this demographic shift, communities have begun looking for ways to meet the changing needs of residents, including in-home personal care services, improved transportation, and housing without accessibility impediments. Download our Sunrise House Rackcard.

Our goal with the Sunrise House Project is clear – make a significant investment in our downtown core, rehab a vacant and outdated commercial building, and offer CFI housing complimented by the services that we already offer next door at Sunrise Towers. This project will allow seniors the opportunity to live independently with supportive services while providing family members with peace of mind.

Now taking applications! Call for more information 603-737-2232.

Sunrise House will feature:

  • 16 fully accessible units: 14 one bedroom apartments, 400+/- sf.; 2 two BR apartments, 800 +/- sf.

  • A mixed income project where four rental units will be available to moderate income households.

  • An elevator will provide tenant and guest access to all units and common rooms.

  •  Each bathroom will provide full mobility for wheelchairs.

  • The in-home services provided will allow the seniors to remain independent but with easy access to family members.

  • All units have roll-in showers; 50% of which are large enough for a wheelchair and a personal assistant.

  • Kitchens include sink, refrigerator, cooktop, and microwave oven.

  • Common room on each floor for socialization opportunities.

  • Dining room on ground floor.

  • Laundry facilities on ground floor.

  • Fully air-conditioned/climate controlled building

Construction is underway on Laconia Housing’s new Sunrise House project, a 16-unit apartment building that will provide affordable, supportive housing for persons with disabilities who are 62 years of age or older.

The new apartments will transform a vacant downtown office building at 423 S. Main Street, next to Laconia Housing’s Sunrise Towers. They are scheduled to be ready for occupancy by late 2019/early 2020.

Included in the rent for the new apartments are heat, hot water, electricity, and air conditioning. Laconia Housing will provide lunch and dinner daily. The units will have a small kitchen and double-sized, roll-in showers to accommodate wheelchairs; an elevator will make all floors accessible.

Sunrise House is in walking distance to restaurants and shops in downtown Laconia. Staff will also coordinate social activities for residents.  We work closely with the ServiceLink Aging and Disability Resource Center as well as DHHS.
