All new senior rental apartments with support services are now open in downtown Laconia

The all-new, affordable and service-enriched Sunrise House is now open in the heart of Laconia. It will offer independent housing for seniors 62 years of age or older. One and two-bedroom rental apartments are still available, where the rent includes laundry and housekeeping with additional services available.

The new 16-unit apartment building offers market rate rentals to seniors so that they can live independently, but get vital services and have access to lots of activities. The market-rate units start at $1,350 per month ($1,650 for a two-bedroom) and include laundry and housekeeping. Additional support services are also available. Laundry facilities are available on the ground floor. Community gathering space is also available on the ground floor, and there is a common room on every floor. Of the 16 units, 14 are one-bedroom apartments of approximately 400 square feet and two are two-bedroom, two bathroom apartments of approximately 800 square feet. Sunrise House welcomed the first residents in late-January.

At the new Sunrise House, there is an entrance ramp outside the building and an elevator inside that provides wheelchair access to all floors. All units have roll-in showers and half have enough room for an assistant to accompany a person in a wheelchair.

Residents have the option of eating their meals in the first-floor dining room or cooking in their own kitchens, which all have a sink, refrigerator, and stovetop. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance, and if a tenant needs a ride one may be arranged through support services. There is a grocery delivery service, and easy access to all kinds of events and activities in town and on campus.

Sunrise House is currently accepting applications for one-bedroom/one-bath and two- bedroom/two-bath apartments equipped with a small kitchen and living room, all wheelchair-accessible. The three-floor housing unit also has a community gathering space where residents can enjoy meals together or watch television, and spend time with friends and family who visit. Everything is designed to make sure the residents remain independent and enjoy a high quality of life.
